Every person born in flesh got to be Born Again in spirit. John 3: 5-6(NIV) Once born again, we got to grow in spirit. How? By having milk and solids. Milk for the babies but solids for matured people.
Milk- Knowing the Word of God very well: “Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind. Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.” 1 Peter 2:1-3 (NIV)
Solids- Training to use the Word of God in day to day life: “Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.” Hebrews 5:13-14 (NIV)
“Therefore, my brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and election. For if you do these things, you will never stumble, and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” 2 Peter 1:10-11 (NIV) There is a Calling appointed by God for everyone. We have to find out what is our calling in the Kingdom of God by maturing in age from Children of God into Sons & Daughters of God.
1) Calling for Eternal Life with God: John 3:16-19(NIV)
“For God has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son He loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.” Colossians 1:9-14(NIV) First of all we are called to have eternal life, just like God has. What a privilege to have such calling. All who just believe this promise of God can have it. Glory to God!
2) Calling for Sonship as Jesus: Ephesians 3:3-6(NIV)
We have a calling by our Father God to be His sons and daughters in Christ Jesus. This is the Grace of God over every individual who believes. We are not orphans or illegitimate in this world. We are the children of the Most High God! Hallelujah! When a position is given, responsibilities also follows. We should be a true, matured sons and daughters to our Father God. “Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.” Ephesians 5:1-2 (NIV)
3) Calling for Holiness: Colossians 3: 12-14(NIV) Leviticus 27:30(NIV)
Our holiness is needed for the Holy calling we are called to do. Because we represent a Holy God so it is expected of us by people who look at us. Holy in the sense purity as well as set apart from being ordinary. We should be extraordinary in our behaviours and deals to bring glory to God. Even to the worldly father a child should not bring disgrace; then how much more we should be careful in bringing honour to our Father God.
4) Calling for Righteousness: Matthew 3:13-16(NIV) Romans 6:19-23(NIV)
We should be righteous before God. It means we should be right standing in the sight of God. As we all know we cannot stand before God with our own righteousness which are rags in God’s sight. We should receive the gift of righteousness that God gives to all who believes in Jesus and obeys His Commandments.
5) Calling for Gospel work: Matthew 28:18-20(NIV)
“He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptised will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.”” Mark 16:15-18 (NIV) It is the responsibility of every child of God to preach the Gospel in one way or another.
