“For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified. I was with you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling. And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.”1 Corinthians 2:2-5 (NKJV)
Human Wisdom: 1 Corinthians 3:18-20(NKJV)
“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.” 2 Timothy 4:3-4 (NKJV)
Many sermons are preached with the basis of talking about the blessings, which are all about having worldly riches and pleasures and many go after these teachers, as Paul mentioned above. Yes, we need worldly things to live here on earth, but only having and going after those things are not the only blessings that we have in the Lord Jesus. We should have a miraculous life with gifts operating through Holy Spirit filled life; this is what Jesus lived and commanded His followers to do also. So do not be deceived thinking, if you have worldly wealth and seeing your children’s children, God will be well pleased with you.
Demonstration of Spirit & Power: Acts 10:38(NKJV)
“I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all long-suffering and teaching. But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfil your ministry.” 2 Timothy 4:1-2, 5 (NKJV)
The holy requirements for a Holy Spirit filled life and spreading the True Gospel are the responsibilities that have been given to every Christian to fulfil. You should make sure that we all should be empowered by the Holy Spirit and preach the Gospel to people around you- where you live, work and the people you meet in your day to day life. Your ministry is not alone in a church, doing some part there. Everyone’s responsibility to preach the good news, pray for sick and help people in need. We have no time here on earth just to collect wealth, lazily waste time enjoying all pleasures, till you leave this earth. What difference are we making then, if we do the same things as this worldly people do, who do not know God?
“For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 5:18-20 (NKJV)
