Jesus’ Parable of the Leaven for Kingdom of Heaven:
“Another parable He spoke to them: “The kingdom of heaven is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal till it was all leavened.”” Matthew 13:33 (NKJV); Luke 13:20-21 (NKJV) “A little leaven leavens the whole lump.” Galatians 5:9 (NKJV)
The Glory of God and the Presence of God will be more powerful like this leavened dough by yeast. So God’s people carry the Glory of God in our being; because we are transformed into His image and this glory will be passed through not only by laying hands on people, now a days by phone calls and through television to touch those who have put their faith in Jesus and the Word of God. This is what the Lord Jesus was talking about and we see that in our lifetime – miracles, healings and deliverance from evil spirits are happening all over the world through latest technologies. Amen. The Kingdom of Heaven is expanding like wildfire, just like this little yeast turning a whole lot of dough sour. Glory to God alone who is able.
Jesus’ Warning about the Leaven of Wrong Doctrine:
“Now when His disciples had come to the other side, they had forgotten to take bread. Then Jesus said to them, “Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the Sadducees.” How is it you do not understand that I did not speak to you concerning bread?—but to beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.” Then they understood that He did not tell them to beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and Sadducees.” Matthew 16:5-6, 11-12 (NKJV) Matthew 16:5-12(NKJV)
We should be aware of leaven which has wrong doctrine, that seems to look correct and practical than what the Lord Jesus taught. Many are deceived because they think that looks logical and comfortable to believe: but they are worldly teachings and nothing godly in them. These teachings look almost true yet not, with hairline difference to topple you away from the true teachings of the Lord Jesus. Lingering on the words taught, before the finished work of Jesus on the Cross, are totally on worldly blessings and are deviating people away; whereas after the Cross the words taught are totally spiritual blessings. This is what Jesus is explaining to His disciples asking them to stop thinking worldly and start thinking spiritually.
Now the Lord Jesus is the Spirit:
“But their minds were blinded. For until this day the same veil remains unlifted in the reading of the Old Testament, because the veil is taken away in Christ. But even to this day, when Moses is read, a veil lies on their heart. Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 3:14-18 (NKJV)
