“Because God’s children are human beings—made of flesh and blood—the Son also became flesh and blood. For only as a human being could he die, and only by dying could he break the power of the devil, who had the power of death. Only in this way could he set free all who have lived their lives as slaves to the fear of dying. Therefore, it was necessary for him to be made in every respect like us, his brothers and sisters, so that he could be our merciful and faithful High Priest before God. Then he could offer a sacrifice that would take away the sins of the people. Since he himself has gone through suffering and testing, he is able to help us when we are being tested.” Hebrews 2:14-18(NLT)
Jesus was tempted & suffered Himself:
Since sin is the root cause of death, sin got to be removed to release human beings. Jesus was God, yet He did not come to earth as God; but came as human being, born as a baby in this world. Jesus was brought up in Nazareth, which was a sin city. He was tempted like us, yet He was without sin. Jesus went through all the sufferings in real on the cross, which we will never go through by His grace. He bore all the punishments for the sin and gave us His righteousness. This is what our God is and His love bestowed upon us. Now Jesus can help us when we go through small afflictions in comparison to the excruciating pain He went through.
To release us from Fear of Death:
Our responsibility is to get this assurance that our sins are forgiven and remitted. Not only that, we have received Jesus’ righteousness and that God remembers our sins no more. So now sin connected diseases and death cannot come upon you. You can live fearless of diseases that are roaming around and death that is threatening. We have to live healthy all our lifetime and this is what the finished work of Jesus on the Cross. So we should not expect all those things that are happening to the people who do not know Jesus. We should know that we are made righteous and only health and blessings will come to us. Let us walk fearless with Jesus, who is residing in us as Holy Spirit.
“O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” For sin is the sting that results in death, and the law gives sin its power. But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Corinthians 15:55-57 (NLT)
