Power and authority over demons and diseases:
“Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases. He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. And He said to them, “Take nothing for the journey, neither staffs nor bag nor bread nor money; and do not have two tunics apiece. “Whatever house you enter, stay there, and from there depart. And whoever will not receive you, when you go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet as a testimony against them.” So they departed and went through the towns, preaching the gospel and healing everywhere.” Luke 9:1-6(NKJV);Matthew 10:5-15(NKJV)
People around us are supposed to know the gospel through us, if we preach the Kingdom of God in which they should enter here and now, not when they die and go to heaven. We are supposed to heal the sick: I find the miraculous healing took place through the Lord Jesus or the disciples are not by praying, rather laying hands and commanding the sicknesses to leave. We should read and understand the methods that are used by the disciples of Jesus and follow them strictly to get best results. We should know that the same resurrection power that rose Jesus Christ from the dead is inside of us all. Ephesians 1:17-23(NKJV)
Authority over serpents and scorpions. and all the enemy’s power:
“After these things the Lord appointed seventy others also, and sent them two by two before His face into every city and place where He Himself was about to go. Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.” And He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.” Luke 10:1, 17-20(NKJV)
The enemy, the devil tries to say lies to us and constantly putting us in fear, so that we should not realise the power and authority we have over him. We, the disciples of God should overcome the devil and his subordinates, the demons by putting our trust in the Word of Christ Jesus and start coming against them in His Mighty Name. This is what our Lord expects us to do and if we refuse to even try, then we are of no use to Him and to the Kingdom of God. We might fail for sometimes but, if we will not give up, we can definitely overcome the enemy and bring victory to bless our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, and be just like those disciples of Jesus who brought joy to Him.
“In that hour Jesus rejoiced in the Spirit and said, “I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and revealed them to babes. Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight.
