Spiritual warfare took place in the heaven when our Lord Jesus died and rose from the dead. And in the angelic realm the war has been won. The same war continues now on earth according to the verses below, because the enemy the devil is now after the children of God on earth. We should win the war and overcome the enemy by the Blood of Jesus and by the word of our testimony not loving our lives, but be ready even to die for Christ Jesus. Revelation 12:7-12(NKJV)
How are we going to do the spiritual war?
Identifying our weak points:
- Be sure you stand – “Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.”I Corinthians 10:12 (NKJV)
- Law is not for righteous – “knowing this: that the law is not made for a righteous person, but for the lawless and insubordinate, for the ungodly and for sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers” I Timothy 1:9 (NKJV)
- Blind says I am seeing – “Jesus said to them, “If you were blind, you would have no sin; but now you say, ‘We see.’ Therefore your sin remains. John 9:41 (NKJV)
- Have spiritual wisdom – “But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. James 3:17 (NKJV)
- Do not judge – “Do not speak evil of one another, brethren. He who speaks evil of a brother and judges his brother, speaks evil of the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge.” James 4:11 (NKJV)
- Avoid arguments, jealousy, quarrelling – “I fed you with milk and not with solid food; for until now you were not able to receive it, and even now you are still not able; for you are still carnal. For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and behaving like mere men?” I Corinthians 3:2-3 (NKJV)
Equipping ourselves with right attitude:
- Complete your obedience – “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.” II Corinthians 10:4-6 (NKJV)
- Love is the key – “Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. Romans 12:9 (NKJV)
- Have divine love – “Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.” Romans 5:5 (NKJV)
- Tarry in God’s presence – “Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.”” Luke 24:49 (NKJV)
Giving all we have to complete the mission:
- Be a servant: “And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave— just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many. Matthew 20:27-28 (NKJV)
- Proclaim the gospel to all nations – “And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. Matthew 28:18-20 (NKJV)
- Let signs and wonders follow – “And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptised will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”” Mark 16:15-18 (NKJV)
- Word of God is milk – “as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby, if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious. I Peter 2:2-3 (NKJV)
- Meat is putting word into practice – “But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. Hebrews 5:14 (NKJV)
- Suffer with Christ and rejoice – “but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy.” I Peter 4:13 (NKJV)
“For if I preach the gospel, I have nothing to boast of, for necessity is laid upon me; yes, woe is me if I do not preach the gospel!” I Corinthians 9:16 (NKJV)
