“Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma. For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), finding out what is acceptable to the Lord. Ephesians 5:1-2, 8-10 (NKJV)
King David, who was living in Old Covenant times, desired a life which is given to us in the New Covenant and the promise of the Father, the Holy Spirit to walk in goodness, righteousness and truth. King David could not do what he desired and many of the Old Testament saints because Jesus Christ did not die yet for them and the Holy Spirit anointing was not on them continuously. Holy Spirit was given to them on special occasions only. Psalms 51:10-12(NKJV) But we have the anointing of Holy Spirit irrevocably and forever. How privileged are we? Let us not take it light. We have to give account to God for the gifts of the Holy Spirit we received. Romans 11:28-29(NKJV)
David said “With Your hand from men, O Lord, From men of the world who have their portion in this life, And whose belly You fill with Your hidden treasure. They are satisfied with children, And leave the rest of their possession for their babes. As for me, I will see Your face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied when I awake in Your likeness.” Psalms 17:14-15 (NKJV)
Yes, we should not be satisfied with the blessings that are for here and now. These kinds of life even the worldly people do and are satisfied. For these things the Father God knows you need and give them all freely. Matthew 6:8, 31-33(NKJV) Our desires should be to live for God; finding out what is acceptable to the Lord as the verses above describe. Each one of us are called for a purpose to be fulfilled in this world. In the Kingdom of God in which you are already in, when you accepted Jesus and started believing in Him, you have a special work only for you. Find out what is that and be cautious to do also, with the help and guidance of the Holy Spirit. Only then we will see Jesus’ Face in righteousness and in His likeness. 2 Corinthians 2:14-17(NKJV)
