“Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptised in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, “Be saved from this perverse generation.” And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.” Acts 2:38-42(NKJV)
There we have the whole instructions of the New Testament Covenant to become a Christian from these verses in a nutshell. Yet we were all taught and instructed to follow only some and the most important rules were overlooked by all the churches and denominations. Because of this none of us are completely following what is written in the Word of God. If you are sitting in one denomination and thinking what they teach you is enough, then you are deceived. Read the Bible, which our Father God graciously given in everyone of your hands and also in your own mother tongues, and understand the seriousness of the heart of our Father and obey what He says.
- Repent – you have a worldly mindset when you were born with Adam’s sinful nature in you, but you have to accept that is wrong according to God’s perspective and turn around, by changing your mind.
- Take water baptism – this is the immersion baptism which you take for the remission of your sins, according to the verses above, without that your sins are not removed.
- Receive the gift of the Holy Spirit – this is another step to transform your spirit to live a holy and victorious life in Jesus, and this is the seal of guarantee for eternal life.
- Separate from this perverse generation – even after attaining the above three qualifications, yet you live a life compromising with the world, then you are not living a spiritual life. So keep yourself clean and stay away from worldly way of doing things.
- Continue in Apostles’ doctrines – in the New Testament there are rules by the Commandments of Jesus that were written by the apostles of Jesus, which you have to follow; these are different from Old Testament.
- Have fellowship – True Christian fellowship you keep, to kindle the anointing you received to burn full flame; otherwise your spiritual life might get cold.
- Break bread – whenever you come together to pray, take Holy Communion frequently – at home, church or if you require miracles in your life.
- Pray – supplications, prayers, intercessions and thanks giving should be raised for everything and for all people.
“Then Jesus answered and said, “O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you and bear with you?”” Luke 9:41; Matthew 17:17 (NKJV)
So all in all we should live a separate, set apart life, from this world. World is not doing anything according to the Word of God. If you go along with the worldly way of doing everything and say I am praying to Jesus too, then you are deceiving yourself and truth is not in you. Even people who worship other, so called gods, do the same, believe the same and live the same way. They too are so loving and smart, even act so holy and achieve by toiling many things, which make you wonder! But the Lord Jesus is not pleased with us if we do the same, beware of this. Let all those who call themselves Christians, true disciples of Jesus, live a separate life and save yourselves till He comes.
