FOR A DEEPER UNDERSTANDING OF THE WORD AND NEW REVELATIONS
When anyone advices a person to change, they immediately think or say why should I change? They think they are fine as they do things and developed a character, not according to the instructions of the Word of God, but by the way the world led them. But the Lord God expects, who has given free-will for every individual, to develop a character like Him by dying to the old-self completely, which is earthly and putting on the new-self, which is godly.
Jesus said, ““Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven; give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.”” Luke 6:37-38 (ESV) Many quote the second part of these verses and claim to get wealthy; but the first part with 3 instructions Jesus is giving to set the minds and hearts of people right before that, which is more vital to our spiritual blessings. Let us read the whole instructions given before and after a blessing to get full benefits.
Preachers need not be afraid to teach the congregation to follow all the commandments that our Lord Jesus gave in His teachings: which we read in red letters all over the 4 gospels, acts and in revelation. Do not be afraid, if you could not keep some of them. Jesus said, “Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 5:19 (NKJV) Glory to God!
We should give importance to read the words of Jesus in the New Testament. We think we know everything when read once but not so. We need to meditate on the words of Christ on regular basis to make the Word come alive in us. It is the word that remains make Jesus reside in us. Jesus said, “The Spirit alone gives eternal life. Human effort accomplishes nothing. And the very words I have spoken to you are spirit and life.” John 6:63 (NLT)
Are you sure that you belong to the Lord? It is good if we test ourselves and be sure we are. We should read the word of God and should know the truth about ourselves. Read to correct yourself and not for having knowledge and information to boast. We should work hard to present ourselves pure to God and get God’s trust in us. So that we can be good workers correctly explaining the word of truth, avoiding foolish arguments. ‘The Lord knows those who are His’ and ‘All who belong to the Lord must turn away from evil’. (2 Timothy 2:19)
When you are born again your SPIRIT is made perfect. In the Spirit, which is the real you, God made equal to JESUS. But this is not yet transferred to your SOUL and BODY. Devil puts thought into your mind. He points out your lack, a sin or a health issue to make you feel miserable. Then you start believing the lie – that you do not seem to have the abundant life as Jesus promised. But it is your job to tell the Devil that you have it and receive with FAITH.
People wonder – now I am saved by the Lord and I want to please the Lord and serve Him – and they question themselves how can I do that? Should I leave all that I am doing in the world and start a new spiritual life? Yes, all have a special call in your life, God will surely speak to you and guide you; but till then, whatever you were doing when you came to the Lord, now start to do that very work heartily as to the Lord in words and deeds. This will definitely please God, will satisfy you and you will receive the reward from the Lord.
Many born again, spirit filled children of God yet are not able to distinguish between the Old and New Covenants. They are still holding on to the old covenant which God Himself found fault, because nobody could keep them and moved on to the new covenant; in which God is providing solutions for our sin problem. Instead of demanding righteous acts from people He Himself providing righteousness and deciding to forgive and forget our sins, if we only believe in Christ Jesus. Glory to God alone for His grace and mercy! Let all of us move into the New Covenant God made with Jesus’ Blood completely and live a victorious life built on firm foundation, unlike shaky foundation if depended on us.
When we read the Word of God, how do we hear and receive matters. Some believe every word, but some believe half of the word. It is all upto us to receive the truth fully and say, “I have it.” Or receive a part of the truth and say, “I do not have it.” Lord Jesus asked everyone who came to him for healing, “What do you want from Me?” Then the person gave the request, then Jesus told, “According to your faith let it be done to you.” This explains somethings we do not receive not because the Lord did not give to you, but we did not receive by correctly confessing our faith. So whoever says, “I have” then more will be given to him/her.
We should not be workaholic or toil minded. We should know how to rest in God. Rest is not being inactive but be rest-assured in the finished work of the Lord God. We should never fear or worry along with the world about anything. God’s promises are true. Let the world say what they want, but we children of God rest in God’s word.
