”Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place. For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing. To the one we are the aroma of life leading to life, and to the other the aroma of death leading to death. And who is sufficient for these things? For we are not, as so many, peddling the word of God; but as of sincerity, but as from God, we speak in the sight of God in Christ.“ 2 Corinthians 2:14-17 (NKJV); 1 Corinthians 1:18-21(NKJV)
Aroma of life to those who are saved:
God is using the preachers who are giving out the fragrance of God’s knowledge to every place they go. Thank God, some of them preaching the Word of God sincerely, fearing they stand in the presence of God, to benefit those who wants to live a spiritual rich life. Churches were created for people to know God and His Commandments and to empower the believers to live a triumphant life. Attending church and following the teachings should only be to learn and live spiritual life and this is the Will of God and this is the eternal life God sent to give to us through Christ Jesus. And become a preacher ourselves and give out this fragrance to others. This is the leading of God to triumph in Christ Jesus.
Aroma of death to those who are perishing:
Some preachers themselves misusing the Word of God, to benefit themselves financially, and those who hear too want to get wealthy go after these. Yes, we need money to survive in this world, but we should be careful not to make money as an idol in our lives. Worldly success is needed, but all our lifetime we should not go after that, missing God and giving time to God’s purposes in our lives. One should know how to draw a line from sucked into the world system. God wants us to prioritise His plans and purposes above everything, so even in our family life we have to follow the commandments of God strictly, honouring parents and elders and be a witness in our families giving out the fragrance of Christ without complaisant.
”Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.“ Ephesians 5:1-2 (NKJV)
