Disciples asked Jesus 3 questions: Matthew 24
- When is the temple destroyed?
- What are the signs for the second coming?
- What are the signs of end times?
Jesus answered commonly for all 3 questions:
- Watch out many come and claim “I am Christ”.
- Wars & rumours of wars start.
- Nation rise against nation/ Kingdom rise against kingdom.
Beginning of birth pain: Luke 21
- Famines, earthquakes, pestilences, fearful events and great signs in heaven happen.
- Christians are persecuted everywhere.
- Many fall from faith and betray. Hate each other. Put some to death. Believers hated by all because of Jesus.
- Many false prophets deceive people.
- Because of wickedness Love of many grow cold.
- Gospel is preached to the whole world.
- Daniel’s abominations of desolation sit in Holy Place –Daniel 9: 24-27
- When you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies you will know it is near.
- Great distress unequalled from the beginning of the world or later develop.
- False Christ & False prophets appear and perform signs and miracles to deceive even the elects.
- Signs appear- Sun darkens, moon gives no light, stars fall, roaring and tossing of sea . Men will faint in terror. Heavenly bodies shaken.
- Son of Man, Jesus comes and the world mourns with fear.
- Jesus comes for Jews and says, “Stand up your redemption is near”.
- Watch out! Son of Man will come but the day or hour nobody knows except God.
- Learn lessons from fig tree i. e. Israel.
Rapture: Mark 13
19) Days of tribulation is shortened by the Lord; otherwise no human being would be saved.
20) The Son of God will come with great power and glory.
21) He will send out angels and gather his elects from 4 winds -from ends of earth to the ends of heaven.
Second Coming of Jesus: Luke 17:20-37
22) “For as the lightning that flashes out of one part under heaven shines to the other part under heaven, so also the Son of Man will be in His day.” Luke 17:24 (NKJV)
23)Happenings like in Noah’s times you can see: people ate and drank, they married and given in marriage till flood came and destroyed.
24) Happenings like in Lot’s times you can observe: people ate and drank, they bought and sold, planted and built till it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed.
25) Jesus said “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.” Matthew 24:35; Mark 13:31; Luke 21:33.
