Apostle Paul, who was Saul before he met Jesus in an open vision, explained to a Roman King about his experience saying, “About noon, King Agrippa, as I was on the road, I saw a light from heaven, brighter than the sun, blazing around me and my companions. We all fell to the ground, and I heard a voice saying to me in Aramaic, ‘Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads.’ “Then I asked, ‘Who are you, Lord?’ “ ‘I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,’ the Lord replied. ‘Now get up and stand on your feet. I have appeared to you to appoint you as a servant and as a witness of what you have seen and will see of me. I will rescue you from your own people and from the Gentiles. I am sending you to them to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’” Acts 26:13-18 (NIV)
Jesus Himself has said in front of the disciples and the people gathered saying He is the light of the world. “When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”” John 8:12 (NIV) Those who follow His Commandments, i.e. Jesus’ Commandments will understand the difference between life and death due to the light that shine on them while reading and doing whatever the Lord taught them in words and deeds. Many are reading or hearing what Jesus taught and giving up thinking those are impossible to follow, so they are still in darkness. This should not be our status we should receive power and strength from the Holy Spirit and do whatever the Lord taught us to do without fail to shine for Him.
You are the light of the world: Ephesians 5:8-14(NIV); 1 Thessalonians 5:1-11(NIV)
Jesus taught the crowd many teachings and one of them is addressing them saying, ““You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:14-16 (NIV)
One burning matchstick is enough to drive away darkness in a large area. When we are with Jesus the light from Him, who is one with our spirit, can surely come out for people to see when our soul is not clogging the path of the light. We should be careful to keep our mind and heart right with God and people; and let the light shine to touch people around us driving out the darkness away from them too. Our job is to focus on the Lord and keep His Commandments diligently avoiding all kinds of distraction to let His Light shine through us. Never give up but zealously follow all the instructions given by the Lord Jesus and keep trying till you succeed, praying constantly to know the will of God by cooperating with Holy Spirit’s wisdom and understanding to do. Jesus is the victorious One with us we can never fail. Colossians 1:9-13(NIV)
“This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.” 1 John 1:5-7 (NIV)
