“When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: “He Himself took our infirmities And bore our sicknesses.”” Matthew 8:16-17(NKJV); Acts 10:36-38(NKJV)
First of all the above verses make clear that diseases are caused by the unclean spirits and definitely not from God. So every Christian should resist the devil and should not accept the diseases when the symptoms start manifesting. Start the fight early to get rid of your diseases before it settles down to torment you, putting your faith in the Word of God; which declares clearly Jesus took the stripes for diseases, in the present tense by Isaiah and past tense by Peter before and after the crucifixion. We are living in the time which says that our sicknesses were already been dealt with and nothing to fear.
By Jesus’ stripes we are healed:
“Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, And as a sheep before its shearers is silent, So He opened not His mouth.” Isaiah 53:4-7 (NKJV); Matthew 9:1-7(NKJV)
When Jesus was in the body going around healing people, the Cross was yet to happen and still people believed in Him and all who came with all kinds of diseases got healed completely and instantaneously. Why not we believe that Jesus finished carrying our sicknesses and put our faith and receive complete healing or going one step further and walk in Divine Health all the time. Jesus expects us to put faith in His finished work of removing sin and sicknesses, and now He is our Good Shepherd and our Overseer, so be hale and healthy. “But Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said, “Why do you think evil in your hearts? For which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Arise and walk’?”Matthew 9:4-5 (NKJV) Answer to Jesus’ question is ‘Not easy’. Jesus went through such excruciating pain for healing— giving up His Body and for the remission of sins— by shedding His Blood to set everyone free.
By Jesus’ stripes we were healed:
“For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps: “Who committed no sin, Nor was deceit found in His mouth”; who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously; who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed. For you were like sheep going astray, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.” 1 Peter 2:21-25 NKJV Matthew 9:35-38 NKJV
Jesus is our Shepherd and our Overseer of our souls; so in your soul you come under the Lordship of the Lord. Let the way we think, feel and decide be changed for good, because according to that our body will react. So the battles we have to win are in our souls to have victorious life in Christ Jesus. “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” 3 John 1:2 (NKJV)
