Jesus is the image of invisible God:
“He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.” Colossians 1:13-17 (NKJV)
Before Jesus was born the whole world was under the control of the devil who stolen the authority and power from Adam and Eve. That is why the devil stood in the presence of God in the book of Job and accused him. “Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them.” Job 1:6 (NKJV) Satan was standing in the place of Adam and confronted God. And Satan also tempted Jesus. “Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.”” Matthew 4:8-9 (NKJV) But Praise the Lord Jesus, the devil has been defeated by Jesus’ Blood. So now Jesus becoming the victorious second Adam is standing in the presence of God and interceding for us. And all the kingdoms of the world and their glory is under the dominion and power of Jesus Christ our Lord.
Jesus is the Head of the Church:
“And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.” Colossians 1:18 (NKJV)
“I now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up in my flesh what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ, for the sake of His body, which is the church,” Colossians 1:24 (NKJV)
Now those who believe in Jesus Christ, the Church is called the Body of Christ and Jesus being the Head and we are the body parts. That is why Jesus said, “And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.” Matthew 16:18 (NKJV) The Church is the corporate of believers, the true followers of Christ Jesus all over the world irrespective of languages and denominations. The Church is not a building but a group of God’s people, living temples of God and the Holy Spirit is residing in them. “Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.” 1 Corinthians 3:16-17 (NKJV)
