“We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers, remembering without ceasing your work of faith, labor of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the sight of our God and Father, knowing, beloved brethren, your election by God.” 1 Thessalonians 1:2-4 (NKJV)
Work of faith: James 2:14-20(NLT)
We all were saved by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, but faith without work is dead. If we have the same kind of faith as the Lord Jesus Himself and those saints that lived a victorious life before us, we should also be having such kind of fellowship with God and work for His Kingdom to spread the gospel and have a supernatural life; otherwise we are cheating ourselves.
Labour of love: 1 Corinthians 16:13-14; 22(NLT)
Just saying to anyone that we love them and do not show in action is not genuine love. Same way if we say we love our Lord Jesus we should labour with Him. Jesus in the Spirit form as Holy Spirit is still working miracles in this world saving people from going to hell and doing many miracles by healing them and providing for them. It is the job of all the believers to work with Him touching people around us with His power and love.
Patience of hope: 2 Thessalonians 3:1-6(NLT)
The Lord Jesus directs our hearts into the love of God and into His patience. If we hope for something, we should wait patiently till we receive. Only God can give you the patience and to hope without wavering to receive miracles. Many pray for some miracles and do not have the patience to receive but just go ahead and do what their mind says. This way the Name of the Lord is not glorified and the work the Lord was doing on your behalf is aborted halfway. That is why we should be connected with people who could believe with you and help you to wait patiently.
““I know your works, your labor, your patience, and that you cannot bear those who are evil. And you have tested those who say they are apostles and are not, and have found them liars; and you have persevered and have patience, and have laboured for My name’s sake and have not become weary. Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love.” Revelation 2:2-4 (NKJV)
