Wheat Grain:
“But Jesus answered them, saying, “The hour has come that the Son of Man should be glorified. Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain. He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honour.” John 12:23-26 (NKJV); Matthew 16:24-26(NKJV)
These kinds of teachings were there for a long time and Christian families were dedicated to God’s work sacrificing their lives and also took care of their families serving with the same mentality. Now a days we call ourselves believers and do not bother to follow Jesus thinking only some among us are disciples and it is their part to do the dying life, but we will only send some money and help, not leaving our comfort zone. Jesus is very clear, that if we love our lives here on earth we will lose it. He divides people in 2 groups always, those who are in the Kingdom of God and those who are out. Father God will honour those who follow Jesus.
Mustard seed:
“Another parable He put forth to them, saying: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field, which indeed is the least of all the seeds; but when it is grown it is greater than the herbs and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and nest in its branches.”” Matthew 13:31-32 (NKJV); Mark 4:30-32(NKJV)
Just like the example of wheat grain, in the Mustard seed parable also Jesus was saying that a disciple of God, how insignificant he looks and feels, can be of much use for the kingdom of God; if he lives a life dying to the pleasures of this world. He can become like the herb which is greater than all herbs and become like a tree: where he could be strong in His spiritual life who could guide and lead many towards following Jesus. There are many new born children of God left without anyone to teach and equip them, we need spiritual leaders who could help, so that they also do greater works for Jesus and get honour from Father God.
“Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work. Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest! And he who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit for eternal life, that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together.” John 4:34-36 (NKJV)
