“These twelve Jesus sent out with the following instructions: “Do not go among the Gentiles or enter any town of the Samaritans. Go rather to the lost sheep of Israel. As you go, proclaim this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven has come near.’ Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give.” Matthew 10:5-8 (NIV)
Proclaim, “Kingdom of Heaven has come near”:
“If Satan is divided against himself, how can his kingdom stand? I say this because you claim that I drive out demons by Beelzebul. Now if I drive out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your followers drive them out? So then, they will be your judges. But if I drive out demons by the finger of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.” Luke 11:18-20 (NIV)
Till JESUS came there was a gap between heaven and earth. But through Jesus Christ, God brought His Kingdom to earth so that people would know who God is and that our God is Love as well as Mighty in Power. Do not give gospel just preaching the worldly blessings and talents which even the pagans do and they excel in it through their hard work: Whereas people of God are bad in toiling and you should not be toiling also because it is a curse. Read Genesis 3:16-19 (NIV). So preach about heavenly blessings; fruit and gifts of the Holy Spirit to be achieved by the people of God, which God has given freely to receive to those who persevere. Read Luke 11:9-13 (NIV). God’s gifts are to be received with thanksgivings and if avoided, God will not be pleased.
Act upon, “Heal the sick, raise the dead, cast out demons”:
“And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” James 5:15-16 (NIV)
Jesus brought Kingdom of Heaven into this world and if we are His followers we too should bring heaven on earth by the way we demonstrate His power through us. Jesus told us to heal the sick and not pray without faith and leave; cleanse the lepers, again it means miraculously heal them not putting bandages; raise the dead spoiling the funeral and cast out demons by not intimidated by them. Because Jesus said, “I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.” Luke 10:19 (NIV) So we should make sure to follow the rules and regulations of Jesus and do accordingly making use of the authority the Lord has given.
Remember, “Freely you have received; freely give”:
Jesus commanded to give the good news, the gospel freely without burdening anybody. That means, He will make sure we are provided miraculously from heaven, so our job is not to worry about the provision for our ministry, but to expect confidently, that it will be given somehow. It is God’s provision, so He will make sure it reaches us by all means. And it is not our job to plan and to do anything about it, but just let go and let God take care. This kind of faith walk will help the Lord to arrange for the provisions we need without hindrance.
“Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”” Matthew 28:16-20 (NIV)
