The storms and troubles come because-
1) The fallen state of the world: Romans 3:10-20(NIV)
Bible says “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” Romans 3:23 (NIV) and there is no one good in the sight of God. Even though we know that we should do good, no one is able to do because of the fallen state of the human race. So the troubles follow us.
2) For the Word of God in us: Acts 8:1-3(NIV)
“But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away.” Matthew 13:21 (NIV) Troubles and persecutions come because of the Word in you, when you are trying to follow Jesus and doing good. We should continue to stand in faith and never waver but trust God more.
3) Definitely not because of sin: Romans 5:17-18(NIV) “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” 2 Corinthians 5:21 (NIV) So those who have accepted Jesus as our Lord and Saviour, have become righteous in Him. We should never condemn ourselves but be rest assured we are the beloved of God even we go through bad situations.
4) It is the act of the devil: Ephesians 6:10-12(NIV)
“Anyone you forgive, I also forgive. And what I have forgiven—if there was anything to forgive—I have forgiven in the sight of Christ for your sake, in order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes.” 2 Corinthians 2:10-11 (NIV) According to this verse we should not give inroad to the devil by not forgiving each other.
5) Troubles come to test our faith: James 1:12-15(NIV)
“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” James 1:2-4 (NIV) When we go through bad times, you should know, they are definitely not sent by God. So learn more about how to act according to the commandments of God in these times and get stronger in faith. Do not turn away from God.
Wise and Foolish Builders:
Jesus gave an illustration,““Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”” Matthew 7:24-27 (NIV) In this we can see the rain came, winds blew and beat on both the houses that are built on the rock as well as on the sand. Likewise, in this world things happen for all alike, whether you are a child of God or not. But if you are a child of God they don’t affect us because the Lord God is on our side fighting and protecting us by His angels who are in charge for us. Glory to God!
