Submit to God:
“Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.” James 4:7-10 (NKJV)
Jesus should be our Lord first and then Saviour. We want Jesus to save ourselves all the time by getting into trouble being on our own. But God’s original plan is to come to Him undone and get His help all the time to have victories in our lives constantly. It is this submitting humble mentality is what pays off. Because it is God who wants to lift us up in His own wonderful way. If you try to lift yourself you will hurt yourselves and many others more in the process. Better we submit to God’s authority, ask Him to help and wait till He does justice to you.
“Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” I Peter 5:6-7 (NKJV)
Submit to each other:
“Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, submitting to one another in the fear of God.” Ephesians 5:17-21 (NKJV)
Submitting to each other is wise thing to do. But not while you are drunk with wine. This is what the world learnt to do these last days. All the time intoxicated to mingle with people to get inspiration and influence, so that they can achieve something in this world. Word of God says we should be filled with the Holy Spirit, encouraging each other, singing melody in our hearts, always thanking God and submit fearing God! Let Holy Spirit of God unite us together in the Name of Jesus.
Even in the family we should be submitting to each other’s suggestions so that we arrive at good counsels. Always better to have all our resources to be pooled in to avoid errors and careless mistakes. “By pride comes nothing but strife, But with the well-advised is wisdom.”Proverbs 13:10 (NKJV) Whenever quarrel comes that is because of pride. So we should be humble enough to listen to each other first and conclude. “When pride comes, then comes shame; But with the humble is wisdom.” Proverbs 11:2 (NKJV)
