“Therefore let that abide in you which you heard from the beginning. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, you also will abide in the Son and in the Father. And this is the promise that He has promised us—eternal life. These things I have written to you concerning those who try to deceive you. But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him.” 1 John 2:24-27 (NKJV)
Abide is a strong word that says we should be totally absorbed and soaked by the teachings we heard from God directly as we connect spirit to Spirit with Jesus and with Father God too. This way we can learn and understand perfectly about eternity and the things we have to cooperate with God to receive the promised eternal life. Again and again the New Testament teachings points our life to eternal life which starts from here living a spiritual life and totally detached from worldly life. Jesus came to give us eternal life and immortality. All things connected to the world are what we are compelled to follow to make a living here on earth, yet our minds should be to live holy, righteous and do good works pleasing to God and attain immortality.
“Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner, but share with me in the sufferings for the gospel according to the power of God, who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began, but has now been revealed by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who has abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel,” 2 Timothy 1:8-10 (NKJV)
We are called to live holy life and do plans and purposes of God. For that you are saved and need the anointing of the Holy Spirit otherwise you will never have the ability to know your calling or have the power to do also. So first of all fast and pray or go and get the anointing imparted to you through the anointed men and women of God by laying of their hands. We have to be more dedicated and spend time to complete and achieve God’s work that are given specifically for us to do and be ready to meet the Lord Jesus boldly when He comes in His glory to take us to His Home, the Heaven, where He has prepared a place for us to live with Him forever and ever. Amen.
