“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” John 1:12-13 (NKJV) “having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever,”1 Peter 1:23 (NKJV); 1 John 5:1(NKJV)
We say we are born again because first we came into this world by the will of man in flesh, but now, when we believe in the Name of Jesus, we are born of God. There are many things that changes drastically when you are Born of God.
1. Whoever is Born of God cannot sin: 1 John 3:9(NKJV)
Those who are born of God have God’s seed in Him so the DNA changes and he cannot sin. Because the desire changes from loving the world to loving God and they do not go after those they now hate. This is the Will of God to every human being so that they all are set free from sin and death.
2. Whoever is Born of God the wicked one does not touch: 1 John 5:18(NKJV)
Now the one who is born of God keeps himself from sinning; because as his nature changed, now he desires the sinful nature no more. And the wicked one, the devil has no legal right to touch him. Devil is the accuser of the brethren if he has anything to accuse them. Revelation 12:10-12(NKJV) But if the devil has nothing to find fault, then he got to keep away. Like Jesus said boldly, the devil has nothing in Him, because He was sinless. John 14:30(NKJV)
3. Whoever is Born of God loves: 1 John 4:7(NKJV)
God is love. So whoever is born of God loves everybody as God do and particularly fellow brethren. So we, the children of God, should walk in love all the time of our lives. This should be our main and only commandment. When you walk in love, you automatically keep all the commandments of Jesus.
4. Whoever is Born of God Overcomes the World: 1 John 5:4(NKJV)
If you are born of God, you overcome the world with the Faith which is in you of God. The world is no more a threat to you because Jesus our Saviour overcame for you. So when you walk with Him you too will overcome. The victory has been won for us already. John 16:33(NKJV)
5. Whoever is Born of God is God’s Family: Galatians 4:3-7(NKJV)
“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.” Romans 8:12-17(NKJV)
6. Whoever is Born of God practices righteousness: Philippians 3: 7-11(NKJV)
“And now, little children, abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming. If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness is born of Him.” 1 John 2:28-29 (NKJV)
