Know that the time is short:
”But this I say, brethren, the time is short, so that from now on even those who have wives should be as though they had none, those who weep as though they did not weep, those who rejoice as though they did not rejoice, those who buy as though they did not possess, and those who use this world as not misusing it. For the form of this world is passing away.“ 1 Corinthians 7:29-31 (NKJV)
Knowing our time is short what manner of people we should be. We should live life for today detached from the pattern of this world as described in the above verses. We go around doing things of this world, as if it is not important, but focus on the Kingdom of God to be established here and now. We should be spiritually minded and should not be fleshly minded, which is enmity against God. Romans 8:7-8(NKJV) The devil attacks those who are worldly minded and overcomes if they are careless.
”Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time.”“ Revelation 12:10-12 (NKJV)
Make the best use of the time:
We should live life overcoming the world, flesh and devil by the Blood of Jesus and be a testimony not daring to die too in this process. This is the life Jesus lived and expected His disciples, the Christians to do. These kinds of teachings are slowly taken away from the sermons in the churches which is very scary. Jesus said, ”He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it.“ Matthew 10:39 (NKJV); Luke 17:33(NKJV). Many are settling for comfortable life here; and not developing any spiritual characters to live for Christ Jesus and secure a life with Him in eternity.
”Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain. You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand. Do not grumble against one another, brethren, lest you be condemned. Behold, the Judge is standing at the door!“ James 5:7-9 (NKJV)
