Know the Truth:
“Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin. And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.” John 8:31-36(NKJV) Thank God, almost all Christians and non-Christians alike seemed to know one or some word of God they have read or heard, nowadays, because of the internet and mobile phones. Definitely we are in a better world than before where reading or hearing of God’s word was rare. Yet just reading, learning and discussing the Word of God will not help. We should understand, digest and apply in life, which is very important.
What is Truth?
Jesus was taken in chains to be tried by Pontius Pilot. He asked Jesus whether He is the King of Jews and Jesus was saying that His kingdom is not of this world and if so His servants would have fought for Him. Again “Pilate therefore said to Him, “Are You a king then?” Jesus answered, “You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.” Pilate said to Him, “What is truth?” And when he had said this, he went out again to the Jews, and said to them, “I find no fault in Him at all.” John 18:33-38(NKJV) So here Pilot was wondering “What is Truth?”
God’s Word is Truth:
But thank God, the Lord Jesus revealed to us that His Word is truth. Jesus prayed for us “Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth. As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. And for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also may be sanctified by the truth.” John 17:17-19 (NKJV) Let us make best use of the Word of God, such a precious truth, available to us by God’s grace and mercy only. Let us sanctify ourselves with the washing of the word of God and be ready for Our King Jesus to arrive. Ephesians 5: 25-27(NKJV)
“Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses.
And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.” Revelation 19:11-14, 16 (NKJV)
Come, King and Lord Jesus!
