“Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you seems to be wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, “He catches the wise in their own craftiness”; and again, “The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are futile.” Therefore let no one boast in men.” 1 Corinthians 3:18-21 (NKJV)
Examine yourself thoroughly: 1 Corinthians 11:27-32(NKJV)
We should examine ourselves thoroughly and find out on what we are building our characters; whether we are acting foolishly or wickedly and get rid of those characters off ourselves and purify us. “Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realise that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test?” 2 Corinthians 13:5 (NIV) The evil characters are most of the times subtle like the snake entering into our system unknowingly and make a havoc in our lives. You might be thinking I am only human so that is okay. No. Our God called us for holiness and purity. So our job is to cooperate with God and with the help of the Holy Spirit, get power from Him and walk that holy life or supernatural life, which God expecting us to live. Being like Jesus should be your goal.
“For Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom; but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.” 1 Corinthians 1:22-25 (NKJV)
Start a holy life with God given power and wisdom: Hebrews 12:3-6(NKJV)
Jesus and Him crucified we focus and preach. Christ Jesus is the power of God and wisdom of God: for us to be empowered and walk as He walked. You might say I tried and could not do, but how hard did you try or did you ask God for power and wisdom of Jesus to operate on you? “In your struggle against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood.” Hebrews 12:4 (NIV) So start doing where you find it difficult to do and ask for the Holy Spirit power to help you: God is willing and waiting to help you all the way to finish your journey victoriously. You have to start somewhere and work with God, cooperating with the conviction and corrections of the Holy Spirit to live a holy life as God wanted us to live.
“To him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy— to the only God our Saviour be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.” Jude 1:24-25 (NIV)
