“For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality; that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honour, not in passion of lust, like the Gentiles who do not know God; For God did not call us to uncleanness, but in holiness. Therefore he who rejects this does not reject man, but God, who has also given us His Holy Spirit.” I Thessalonians 4:3-5, 7-8 (NKJV)
Happiness: Ephesians 5:3-7(NIV)
People live life making things happen to them to be happy. They have a long list of things to do and places to see in their lives and without anything happening to them they are not happy! They do this themselves and expect others to do also, otherwise they call you a loser. This is the world to you. And this happiness will not last for long, before you finish one, you feel like doing something else for yourself. One should not live for themselves alone; of course you do things for yourselves, but that should not be your only main ambition in your life.
Joy is from the Lord. Even when nothing is happening, you are joyful, because, the Lord God, Jesus is with you and in you. This is the life Jesus came to give for us. We enjoy the company of Jesus; while doing all the things for ourselves and for others out of love that is supplied to you by the Lord. This joy is the ecstasy of being in the spirit with God Himself, who is full of love, joy and peace. Hallelujah!
“For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober. For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk are drunk at night. But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation. For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him.” I Thessalonians 5:2-10 (NKJV)
