“The Lord answered, “If you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘May you be uprooted and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you! “When a servant comes in from plowing or taking care of sheep, does his master say, ‘Come in and eat with me’? No, he says, ‘Prepare my meal, put on your apron, and serve me while I eat. Then you can eat later.’ And does the master thank the servant for doing what he was told to do? Of course not. In the same way, when you obey me you should say, ‘We are unworthy servants who have simply done our duty.’”” Luke 17:6-10 (NLT)
A servant is not greater than his master:
So whatever miracles, healings, signs and wonders we do as the servants of God, it is all because of the power in the Name of Jesus and the gifts of the Holy Spirit. This all servants and ministers of God should realise. We cannot take any credit for our works and exalt ourselves more than any other believers in the Body of Christ. The Lord Jesus is very clear in giving us the servants and the master example to understand and behave as the ministers of God. Definitely the Master alone is greater than the servants. John 13:13-17(NKJV)
Many are not understanding this relationship while serving the Lord. They think it is a place to take advantage of others and demand great honour; so they are always thinking of receiving rewards and services by other fellow followers of the Lord Jesus. We realise this and should not exalt some servants or ministers of God above everyone else. If we do so the rest of the ministers lose their confidence in them. The Lord would expect us to do His work keeping everyone equal and serve more effectively helping each other, teaching each other and encouraging each other. John 15:20-24(NKJV)
Jesus said to the disciples, “Do not call anyone on earth your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven. And do not be called teachers; for One is your Teacher, the Christ. But he who is greatest among you shall be your servant. And whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.” Matthew 23:9-12 (NKJV)
We have got only one Father who is God, and one Teacher who is Christ Jesus. The word is very clear. Is this not encouraging you and me? How wonderful is our position in the Kingdom of God and how privileged we are to inherit the Kingdom of God and serve the Lord God. Glory to God alone.
