The way we respond to God in love shows us how much we are appreciating the grace he showers upon us by forgiving our sins and remembering them no more. Getting our sins forgiven is the major part of Born Again experience one should go through. Many even among Christians do not go through this process. Many seemed to confess their sins on daily basis yet not really meaning it. Because they have not agreeing to the fact that they have sinned against God or people. But Bible says, “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,”Romans 3:23 (NIV)
Luke 7:36-50 (NIV) This is what Jesus is telling in this passage. The person who invited Jesus, Simon never thought he was a sinner. He thought he was somebody great in society and so he did not offend God or anybody for that matter. He looked at the woman at Jesus feet and found her a sinner but not himself. How many of us think like this even now? If confronted many will try to prove they are sinless or agree wondering may be not knowing they might have done something wrong. Because they were not forgiven by God much they also do not love the Lord God that much.
“But the Holy Spirit also witnesses to us; for after He had said before, “This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the LORD: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them,” then He adds, “Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.”” Hebrews 10:15-17 (NKJV) Oh what a statement! People of God make sure that you confess your sins and get this assurance of God acquitting you of all offences against Him made by our sinful nature and receive complete acceptance as His beloved sons and daughters.
Once you receive this cleansing you would really have so much joy in you that you would feel like telling this wonderful change that took place in you to others. This is how the Gospel should be shared. You cannot contain the joy and love you feel inside of you. Like this lady in the above passage did not mind others watching her but showed her love and gratitude to Jesus by washing His feet with tears, wiping with her hair and anointing costly perfume. When others see the love in you for God they will automatically understand the power of God in our Gospel.
How Jesus gave Good News to the people? Out of love and compassion,
- He healed the sick.
- He forgave the sins of all the people.
- He gave Himself up on the Cross.
He asked us to follow His footprints. Forgive all and operate in love for God finding out His heart. His heart is to reach this Gospel to as many as possible for all to have given a chance to understand and to receive. We are in the End Times. All signs pointing out to that then how much more we should be showing others that Jesus is the only way. Let us take up our cross and follow Jesus setting aside the worldly matters that are so irrelevant that are trying to occupy our time. “Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.”Galatians 5:24(NIV) Let us love The Lord with all that we have.
Let us confess as Paul did. “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2:20 (NIV)
