Jesus said “For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 5:18-20 (NIV)
Laws and Commandments of God:
Laws and commandments will be there as long as the heaven and earth are here. They are there for everyone to accomplish in our lifetime here. We are supposed to know all of the commandments that we need to follow and do them getting supernatural power and strength from the Holy Spirit. Our righteousness will excel the Pharisees and teachers when we accept the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus as a free gift first. When we put on the righteousness of Jesus, we can enter the kingdom of heaven. Glory to God!
Least in the Kingdom of God:
Once we put on the righteousness of God given to us as free gift, we have to practice all of the commandments of God by the help of the Holy Spirit power. But the Lord God is gracious enough to allow us to enter the kingdom of heaven even if we could not keep all the commandments. We will enter as the least to enjoy eternal life if we just preach the gospel alone. This is the grace and mercy of God.
Great in the Kingdom of God:
Again when we receive the gift of the righteousness of God, if we tried our best and could practice all the commandments of God by the help of the Holy Spirit of course, we will be great in the kingdom by preaching the gospel that is the grace and mercy of God. So whatever spiritual growth you are in, it is your job to preach the gospel.
“But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile,” Romans 3:21-22 (NIV)
“Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”” Matthew 28:18-20 (NIV)
