“Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.” I John 2:15-17 (NKJV)
Lust of flesh, Lust of eyes & Pride of life:
The verses above clearly state that if you love the world and things in it, then the love of Father God is not in you! It is not that your love for Father God but His love is not in you. If you have not received the abounding and overwhelming love of God in you as a flood, your hearts will go only after the worldly things, pleasures and pride. These are the least things you should be concerned about.
“As a father pities his children, So the Lord pities those who fear Him. For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust. As for man, his days are like grass; As a flower of the field, so he flourishes. For the wind passes over it, and it is gone, And its place remembers it no more. “But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting On those who fear Him, And His righteousness to children’s children, To such as keep His covenant, And to those who remember His commandments to do them.” Psalms 103:13-18 (NKJV)
We should be worried that we have known what is the will and purposes of God for us and find out and do it with all the worldly resources available to you. Make sure you keep Jesus’ covenants and commandments. Jesus has given us His Covenant with His Blood for the remission of our sins. Not the old covenant with circumcision as God did to Abraham. And Jesus has given us His Commandments in New Testament. This you have to follow not Ten Commandments which were given to Jews. Earnestly desire spiritual gifts and operate in them filled by the Holy Spirit power. 1 Corinthians 14:1-3,39 (NKJV)
Jesus’ New Covenant: Luke 22:20 (NKJV)
Jesus took the cup of grape juice on the night He was to be handed over to the authorities to die as the sin offering for our sins, said that He was making a New Covenant with His Blood. So we do the Holy Communion in remembrance of this New Blood Covenant with Jesus.
Jesus’ New Commandment: John 13:34-35 (NKJV)
Jesus told the disciples that He was giving them a New Commandment that they should love each other as He loved them so that seeing their love, others should come to know the love of God; which Lord Jesus shown to all who follow Him.
Holy Spirit power: Acts 1:4-8 (NKJV)
Jesus told the disciples to tarry in prayer till they all received the baptism of the Holy Spirit so that they would have the power to witness for Him. This everyone of us should receive otherwise you cannot be good witness. We should earnestly go after till we get trained to operate in the fruits and gifts of the Holy Spirit.
