When you are born through your mother’s womb you are in flesh and you walk in flesh according to the way your body instructs and you listened; when it said you are hungry, you ate; when it said you are tired, you rested. You also acted according to your soul’s feelings; when your feelings said you are angry, you shouted; when it said you are sad, you cried. This is walking in Flesh. “Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.” Romans Romans 8:5-8(ESV)
What is gospel? Jesus came to give us Everlasting Life / Eternal Life; which Life births in Spirit and continues in Spirit.
John 3 Jesus explained Salvation this way to a well learned religious ruler Nicodemus.
“There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?” Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.”” John 3:1-6, 13-19, 21(ESV)
John 4 Jesus explained Salvation this way to Samaritan woman who was uneducated and living in sin.
“A woman of Samaria came to draw water. Jesus answered and said to her, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”
The woman said to Him, “Sir, I perceive that You are a prophet. Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, and you Jews say that in Jerusalem is the place where one ought to worship.” Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming when you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father. You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews. But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” The woman said to Him, “I know that Messiah is coming” (who is called Christ). “When He comes, He will tell us all things.” Jesus said to her, “I who speak to you am He. ”” John 4:7-14, 19-26(ESV) John 5:39-41(ESV)
Jesus said “”No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.” Matthew 6:24 ESV; Luke 16:9-13(ESV) You got to choose between God or unrighteous money. In your life you have chosen either one of these two for sure.
One cannot walk both in Flesh as well as in Spirit. You got to get rid of one to follow the other. We fast to get rid of the Flesh; to instruct your body and feelings to listen to you; instead of you listening to it’s tunes. In fasting and praying in tongues, your Spirit man becomes stronger overcoming the flesh! “You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him.” Romans 8:9-11(ESV) Acts 2:38(ESV); Acts 16:30-31(ESV)
