Faithful in unrighteous Mammon:
“So the master commended the unjust steward because he had dealt shrewdly. For the sons of this world are more shrewd in their generation than the sons of light. “And I say to you, make friends for yourselves by unrighteous mammon, that when you fail, they may receive you into an everlasting home. He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much. Therefore if you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? And if you have not been faithful in what is another man’s, who will give you what is your own?” Luke 16:8-12 (NKJV)
First of all it is so relieving to know what Jesus is saying that the sons of this world are very clever than us the children of light. God is light so who walks with Him walks in light too. In God’s Kingdom of light cleverness is not appreciated but wisdom and revelation by the Holy Spirit is recommended. Whether with our life or the life of people around us, it matters a lot to God that we should be sincere to ourselves and to others in everything we do.
The Lord will test with the unrighteous mammon, which is money used in the world, to find how are you managing. You are monitored all the time whether you are misusing or fearing God and are sincere with your dealings. Accordingly God will trust you and give true riches, which are the angelic helps and supernatural provisions, to win souls for the Kingdom of God.
What men esteem highly is abomination to God:
““No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.” Now the Pharisees, who were lovers of money, also heard all these things, and they derided Him. And He said to them, “You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. For what is highly esteemed among men is an abomination in the sight of God.” Luke 16:13-15 (NKJV)
Jesus called money as unrighteous mammon because if anyone loves money more than people that thing becomes that person’s demon god. So we all should be very careful and draw a line and do not cross and become obsessed with money. Money is needed for everything but getting hold of it should not be your only goal in life. If your life is revolving around money then surely you are in love with money.
Our life should be revolving around Jesus, who is our Lord God and worthy to be loved and go after. God first loved us and gave Jesus for all our needs and all the promises of God is ,”Yes and amen” in Christ Jesus. Jesus too loved us and gave His body and blood as a ransom to redeem us. Let us first love our God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength.
Now we know that the whole world man created revolves around money and that is an abomination and a detestable thing to God. All crimes in the world take place because of money, the abundance of it or the lack of it. The whole world revolves around this darkness created by the demonic mammon. As sons of light, let us take our eyes off the uncertain mammon and focus our attention on unchanging God and Saviour Jesus Christ, our Lord and serve Him only.
