““Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” Matthew 6:31-33 (NKJV)
Seek the Kingdom of God, not worldly kingdom: Matthew 6:19-21(NKJV)
Yes, you need to do worldly things to live, but are you mindful of the things of God and what He wants to do in you and through you? Are you meditating on the Word of God day and night to know His Will and discipline yourself accordingly? These things make you seek the Kingdom of God and live in it right here on earth and be a good witness to God. When you concentrate on these things of heaven above, Our Father will make sure you receive what you need here on earth to eat, drink and wear. You end up having all the best in the physical life supernaturally. For example when we buy the main object from a store, we get the free gift coming along with it or when we order the main dish in a restaurant, the side dish comes along with it. The opposite is not possible and that is why many people struggle in spiritual and physical lives.
We have to read the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ and obey the conditions he has mentioned to receive the blessings and peace that only He can give. “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” John 14:27 (NKJV) In this verse the part we have to obey is we should not let our heart be troubled and should not let it be afraid.
Seek His righteousness, not self-righteousness: Luke 18:9-14(NKJV)
All should come to the end of ourselves quickly, without go on trying and failing to get a good name from God, realise we are not that great to live a righteous life, that we are taught in our churches, on our own strength and humble ourselves to receive the gift of righteousness from God, by receiving the power of the Holy Spirit and using God’s own power to do everything right, to give God all the glory. No flesh should glory before God, because all men have sinned and fallen from or lost the glory of God. Now all flesh got to receive righteousness by faith as a gift from God and should not try to get as a wage from doing some good works. All our righteousness is filthy rags before God. You may impress some people around you with your works but not God. Self righteousness is mother of all sins before God, because being on your own, you are saying that you do not need the Saviour Jesus Christ and rejecting Him.
Many suffer wrath of God because they do not know what they are doing. “But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,” Romans 3:21-24 (NKJV) According to God no man is good and that is why He sent Jesus to save us from our sins and give us free gift of righteousness. We should believe and honour the Word of God to follow the instructions diligently and receive earthly blessings also along with spiritual blessings, which is more important and much needed for all of us.
“For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as there are many gods and many Lords), yet for us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and through whom we live.” 2 Corinthians 8:5-6 (NKJV)
