“Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the Scriptures: “ ‘The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; the Lord has done this, and it is marvellous in our eyes’ ? “Therefore I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people who will produce its fruit. Anyone who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces; anyone on whom it falls will be crushed.”” Matthew 21:42-44 (NIV); Luke 20:17-18(NIV)
“then know this, you and all the people of Israel: It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed. Jesus is “ ‘the stone you builders rejected, which has become the cornerstone.’ Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”” Acts 4:10-12 (NIV); Isaiah 28:16-17(NIV)
We are building the Kingdom of God which is at hand from the time John the Baptist and Jesus started preaching about it. It is all about spiritual life right here on earth which is entirely different from the way the world operates naturally so this spiritual life is supernatural and eternal which will lead us into the life after without much difficulty. In other words the entrance to the life hereafter, that is eternal life is right here in our spirit. And then we move on to the physical eternal life.
What foundation was put by Jesus as the cornerstone and then all the saints followed Him are the other stones to build the Kingdom for God’s plans and purposes. This we have to realise and be a stone in this structure following Jesus’ teachings and commandments is very important. When we do that Jesus will support us and take it personal whatever happens to us. As He explains if anyone falls on these stones like you and me will be broken to pieces and anyone on whom as stones we resist will be crushed. This is happening in this world quiet sometimes and people do not notice. But anyone who has the spiritual eyes to see knows this.
“Then Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest and asked letters from him to the synagogues of Damascus, so that if he found any who were of the Way, whether men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem. As he journeyed he came near Damascus, and suddenly a light shone around him from heaven.
Then he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?” And he said, “Who are You, Lord?” Then the Lord said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. It is hard for you to kick against the goads.” So he, trembling and astonished, said, “Lord, what do You want me to do?” Then the Lord said to him, “Arise and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”” Acts 9:1-6 (NKJV)
We are praying for all the persecutions happening for the church and we should realise that whoever falls on the church of which Jesus is the head and He takes it personal so they will be broken and destroyed for sure. Ephesians 1:17-23(NKJV)All we got to do is to find out ourselves whether we are doing all the things that the Lord Jesus instructed to do to be safe in this time of persecution. If we trust and obey Him we do not have to fear any harm done to us. Nothing by any means hurt us is the promise of our Lord Jesus. Stand on those convincing words of Jesus Christ our Lord.
“Whatever city you enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you. And heal the sick there, and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’ But whatever city you enter, and they do not receive you, go out into its streets and say, ‘The very dust of your city which clings to us we wipe off against you. Nevertheless know this, that the kingdom of God has come near you.’” Luke 10:8-11 (NKJV)
