“For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is. If anyone’s work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.” 1 Corinthians 3:11-15 (NKJV)
Gold, Silver and Precious stone:
“However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.” John 16:13-15 (NKJV); Acts 1:8(NKJV)
First of all we should all receive the Holy Spirit of God as Jesus instructed His disciples to do so that we receive the power to be holy and do God’s work. And above all we should do God’s Will pleasing Him getting instructions from the Holy Spirit guidance and help. Then and only then our constitutions are definitely on the foundation laid by Jesus our Lord and will be like gold, silver and precious stone that will withstand the test of fire. Our God is a consuming fire. We should know we are serving the Almighty God and in His glorious presence no one can stand on their own.
Wood, Hay and Straw:
““I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.” John 15:5-6 (NKJV); Philippians 4:13(NKJV)
On our own strength and knowledge we can do nothing as Jesus said. Now the Lord is in Spirit, as Holy Spirit power. We should never plan on our own and please ourselves. Not alone in the ministry work but also in our personal day to day life, because according to our deeds we are judged by God. All deeds inside church and outside the church, inside and outside home, everywhere are judged. Our whole being should have been transformed by the renewing of our minds, otherwise our constructions are not on the foundation laid by Jesus Christ and will be like the wood, hay and straw, which cannot withstand the consuming fire of God’s presence. May be your soul will escape even though your works are burnt up but with difficulty.
