Many of us do not realise the seriousness of what we are meditating on. We always are very careless about what we are thinking because you are very sure no one around you will find out. But the Lord looks at your heart only all the time to judge you. The Word of God says, “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. Keep your mouth free of perversity; keep corrupt talk far from your lips.” Proverbs 4:23-24 (NIV) The Lord Jesus found out what was going on in the hearts of people around and He was disappointed. In the spiritual world when we go to heaven not alone God will know what we are thinking, the other person next to you will also know. We better practice some discipline regarding this. Matthew 9:4(NIV); Luke 6:8(NIV); Mark 2:8(NIV); John 2:25(NIV).
“Jesus called the crowd to him and said, “Listen and understand. What goes into someone’s mouth does not defile them, but what comes out of their mouth, that is what defiles them.” Peter said, “Explain the parable to us.” “Are you still so dull?” Jesus asked them. “Don’t you see that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and then out of the body? But the things that come out of a person’s mouth come from the heart, and these defile them. For out of the heart come evil thoughts—murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander. These are what defile a person; but eating with unwashed hands does not defile them.”” Matthew 15:10-11, 15-20 (NIV)
Our hearts are like fertile lands and all negative thoughts are like weeds which are not of the Father God. Only God’s Words are incorruptible seeds which we are supposed to plant in our hearts and those will produce good fruits that will bless us and the people around. People are still ignorant of what damage they are doing to themselves but blaming Satan and others for the things go wrong in their lives. We give so much importance to the food we put in our mouth and how clean and nutritious, thinking that might defile the bodies. Whereas not at all worried about what we think and what we speak. Jesus is very clearly mentioning above what defiles a man.
“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.” Philippians 4:8 (NIV)
