You are already clean:
““I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.” John 15:1-8(NKJV)
Once we accepted Christ Jesus as our Lord and Saviour we are born again in water and spirit so we are a new creation. Old things are all passed away, which means not only your sins but also your characters that you developed according to the worldly standards. Therefore now we are to start a new life, pure and holy, like our Father God who adopted us as sons along with Jesus our Lord. Jesus is saying that we are made clean by the Word He spoke and made things clear to us in His teachings. New rules and instructions from the Word He spoke are now to follow, so all our traditional way of doing things in our family are no more applicable. We have to renew our minds thinking differently and planning differently according to Jesus’ Commandments with the help of the Holy Spirit power and guidance. Doing all these things continuously, even though we may fail; get power, keep trying and set our lives right, until Jesus comes back to take us home, should be our main focus.
Be patient, the Lord is at hand:
“Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain. You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand. Do not grumble against one another, brethren, lest you be condemned. Behold, the Judge is standing at the door!” James 5:7-12(NKJV)
Doing all that we got to do we should wait patiently, but our attitude should be full of joy, just like our Lord Jesus endured the Cross focusing on the future victory and glory that was kept for Him in the presence of His Father. We should go on purify ourselves, strengthen ourselves and overcome every battle we face till we see Jesus face to face, which is definitely going to happen. All signs that are happening around us in the world clearly states, that the Lord is at hand. Glory to God! So we watch and pray looking above for our redemption is drawing near.
Natural olive tree and wild olive branches:
“For if the firstfruit is holy, the lump is also holy; and if the root is holy, so are the branches. And if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them became a partaker of the root and fatness of the olive tree, do not boast against the branches. But if you do boast, remember that you do not support the root, but the root supports you.” Romans 11:16-24(NKJV)
Whatever victory has been won by us, we should make sure that we are only branches and the real support we get is from the root, the Lord Jesus Christ and should be humble enough to give all the glory to Him. The root is Jewish people from where through one of their tribes, Judah, Jesus came in flesh. This we have to remember, that gentiles are the wild olive tree grafted in the vine, Jesus. Gentiles are not replacing the Jews but added only. Therefore we Christians should not be joining with all kind of thoughts and deeds that are done against the Jewish people. If we bless the Jewish people and support them, we will be blessed also and if we come against them, with rest of the world, we will be cursed.
“For if God did not spare the natural branches, He may not spare you either. Therefore consider the goodness and severity of God: on those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in His goodness. Otherwise you also will be cut off. And they also, if they do not continue in unbelief, will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again.” Amen. Romans 11:21-23 (NKJV)
