“For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light. For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.” Colossians 1:9-14 (NIV); Ephesians 1:3-10(NIV)
We are supposed to live a spiritual life pleasing the Lord Jesus in every way, enjoying the full redemption work of God through His Son and sharing the inheritance of the Kingdom of Light by doing the following:
- Filled with the knowledge of His Will,
- Having wisdom and understanding that the Holy Spirit gives,
- Bearing fruit in every good work,
- Growing in the knowledge of God,
- Strengthened with all power of His glorious might,
- Having great endurance and patience,
- Giving joyful thanks to God,
- Receiving the forgiveness of sins.
All the above are your part to do coming to God humbling yourself. Firstly everyone should receive the assurance of your sins have been forgiven. You need not go on confessing your sins everyday because all your sins were in the future when Jesus died on the cross for everyone’s sins. That means Jesus has forgiven your sins 2000 years ago, so let the joy of the salvation fill your hearts and minds. Secondly you cannot do anything in the Kingdom of God you have entered with your own will power. You have to receive power from God in the anointing of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues. Tongues is a prayer language which all of us should receive to pray powerful prayers and live victorious spiritual life. Many come to church yet live a worldly life not understanding anything of the spiritual life Jesus came to give to those who listen to His Commandments and obey them. Followers of Jesus are not expecting their death and grave as worldly people, but expecting our Saviour who by His power is going to bring the world under His control and transform our earthly bodies into glorious body like Him. 1 Corinthians 14:1-3(NIV); Jude 20-21(NIV)
“Join together in following my example, brothers and sisters, and just as you have us as a model, keep your eyes on those who live as we do. For, as I have often told you before and now tell you again even with tears, many live as enemies of the cross of Christ. Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is set on earthly things. But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Saviour from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.” Philippians 3:17-21 (NIV); 2 Peter 3:14-18(NIV)
