“And when Jesus saw great multitudes about Him, He gave a command to depart to the other side. Then a certain scribe came and said to Him, “Teacher, I will follow You wherever You go.” And Jesus said to him, “Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.”” Matthew 8:18-20(NKJV)
Jesus worked continuously for the last part of His life and had no rest till He preached the good news that the Kingdom of God is at hand and whoever believes can enter in by the Grace of God. All are invited to receive the salvation of God which is freely available and become children of God even though a few are chosen. In the sense it is like a board which says, ”ALL ARE INVITED “ only when you enter in that gate you can read the other side of the board which says, “Few are chosen”. Jesus said, ““For many are called, but few are chosen.”” Matthew 22:14 (NKJV) Glory to God!
“After this, Jesus, knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, “I thirst!” Now a vessel full of sour wine was sitting there; and they filled a sponge with sour wine, put it on hyssop, and put it to His mouth. So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.” John 19:28-30(NKJV)
Jesus made sure He completed all the prophecies spoken by the Prophets and He lived a sinless life fulfilling the Law. In this way Jesus became a representative for all of us so that we can all be free from Law and judgment. This is what He meant by saying, “IT IS FINISHED “. Through first man, Adam, sin and death entered into mankind and by the last Man, JESUS, life and immortality has been given to all and to all who believes. “but has now been revealed by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who has abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel,” 2 Timothy 1:10 (NKJV)
Jesus said, ““I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me— just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep. The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life—only to take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father.”” John 10:14-15, 17-18 (NIV)
