“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armour of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armour of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” Ephesians 6:10-13 (NKJV)
Principalities:
Devil chooses the authoritative power directly over you to put pressure on you —elders in your household, your spouse or your boss in the workplace. We will be having bitterness towards them whereas they did not even know they were hurting you. 2 Timothy 2:24-26(NKJV) In these situations take authority that was given to you in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth and speak that evil behind, addressing that to leave and it got to go. Ephesians 1:18-21(NKJV) Because God had made Jesus to be seated with Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion.
Powers:
Some of the evil manifest itself through diseases and infirmities. These will not go using medicines or diets but to be addressed as evil spirits and got to be caste out. Galatians 1:3-4(NKJV) If you are head of the household it is your responsibility to address that name of the disease and speak it to go in the name of Jesus Christ and by using the power of the Holy Spirit in you. We have to receive the anointing of the Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues to believe that we are the temple of God and Holy Spirit is residing in us. 1 Corinthians 3:16-19(NKJV)
Rulers of the darkness of this age:
In the society we move in, darkness lurks in the form of wicked people, fully possessed by evil spirits/ demons. We have to be careful where to go and not to go choosing the time and places listening to the advices of the elders. We have to be on the guard all the time even when the atmosphere seems to be very friendly. We should have the Holy Spirit gift of discernment to differentiate the spirits that are operating in the people around you and act accordingly while speaking and associating with them. 1 Peter 5:5-9(NKJV)
Spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places:
The first heaven is where we see the stars, the sun and the moon. There are some realm of the atmosphere, which is called the second heaven, where fallen angels and demons are operating from. Jude 1:5-7(NKJV). And above all these levels is the third heaven where God dwells, 2 Corinthians 12:2-4(NKJV). We are having fight against these wickedness in the atmosphere by the power of the Holy Spirit, when we speak with authority, God’s angels will fight for us in the spirit realm. Therefore we cannot fight with our flesh, but should be strong in the spirit to do so and overcome individually. We cannot be depending on others’ anointing and power to do our warfare. We should develop our own spiritual strength to do so.
“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled. Do you look at things according to the outward appearance? If anyone is convinced in himself that he is Christ’s, let him again consider this in himself, that just as he is Christ’s, even so we are Christ’s.” 2 Corinthians 10:3-7 (NKJV)
We have to believe we are already in the Kingdom of God which is the truth. Jesus Christ has already delivered us from the power of darkness and brought us into His Kingdom of Light when we are born again. Therefore the victory has been won for us, and that is why we use the power of Jesus’ precious Name to chase out evil from our lives. For example, if you are working in the Police Department, it is your job to listen to the superiors, put on the uniform and use your badge to catch the criminals. Similarly you have to submit to God and resist the devil then he flees from you. James 4:1-7(NKJV)
